Candidate Filing Period

Filing Dates:  Friday, January 2 through Thursday, January 8

Filing Hours: 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

  • Local offices: File at the Weber County Elections Office

  • State offices: For single-county legislative offices, file at the Weber County Elections Office, for multi-county legislative offices, file at the County of residence or the LG's Office - state offices must have completed their Conflict of Interest form on disclosures.utah.gov; if you have questions regarding this form please reach out to the Utah Lieutenant Governor's Office

  • Federal offices: File at the Utah State Capitol


The applicable filing fee must be paid at the time of declaring candidacy (see filing fee section below for applicable fees).

Before filing, legislative candidates must register on disclosures.utah.gov and submit a conflict of interest form

Before or at filing, county candidates must complete a conflict of interest form. This can be done online or by using a printable form

Before filing, state school board candidates must register on disclosures.utah.gov and submit a conflict of interest form

Voted Ballot Reports - Subscription Reports

Beginning the week ballots are mailed through the Friday before Election Day, campaigns may request reports listing voters who have returned vote-by-mail ballots.

  • Reports may be provided daily or weekly

  • One-time setup fee: $15.00
